REALTOR® Couple Recognized For Their Service

Stone Ridge, N.Y., July 7, 2008 - REALTORS® Laurel and Tim Sweeney of Prudential Nutshell Realty are well known for bringing double the effort and energy to their real estate and non-for-profit endeavors. So it's not surprising that they recently received double honors as REALTOR® of the Year and REALTOR® Associate of the Year from the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® (UCBR).

"These awards are presented each year to REALTORS® who are making a difference in our profession and our community," said Dorothy Pismopulos, UCBR's Chief Executive Officer. "Laurel and Tim are very active on committees and rarely turn the Board down when a community event is in the making. Both are very worthy recipients of the awards."

Along with broker/owner Tom Jackson, Laurel and Tim opened Prudential Nutshell Realty in 2002, and it quickly rose to become one of the top five agencies in Ulster County. Laurel and Tim together are responsible for sales in excess of $6 million in Ulster County real estate sales in 2007 and are on track to increase that number substantially in 2008. The couple have been active participants in UCBR, with Tim currently serving as President Elect of the Board and Laurel heading up the Public Relations Committee.

Along with their successful real estate business, Laurel and Tim are also co-owners of Stone Ridge Wine & Spirits, which frequently participates in local fund- raising efforts, including UCBR's annual Wine Dinner to benefit the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity International®.

The community-minded couple are also involved in a number of civic and not-for-profit organizations. They are major supporters of the Rondout Valley Growers Association, Mohonk Preserve and the GLBTQ Center in Kingston. In addition, Laurel serves as a director of the Rondout Valley Business Association, Stone Ridge Library Foundation and Women's Studio Workshop, and Tim is a director of the Benedictine Health Foundation and the Rondout Valley Business Association, and warden of the Church of Christ the King in Stone Ridge, where Laurel is an active member.

"We are blessed to live in such a wonderful area. Our children have grown up here, and we have long-established friendships", noted Laurel. Tim added, "We are so fortunate to be able to give back to the community that has given us so much. And we both love our work in real estate." The couple's commitment to their profession, their community and their family is a testament to the true power of partnership.
